Microsoft, a long-term client of ours, commissioned Something Else Studio to create a series of engaging video spots for their Edge team. The goal was to highlight the useful and innovative features of Microsoft Copilot, demonstrating how it enhances productivity and organisation in a friendly and accessible manner.
Our collaboration with the Microsoft Brand Team began with a shared vision: to produce videos that not only inform but also resonate with viewers on a personal level. Each video, ranging from 15 to 30 seconds, needed to convey a substantial amount of information while maintaining a warm and natural tone.
The development process started with in-depth discussions and brainstorming sessions with the Microsoft Brand Team. Together, we crafted compelling stories and meticulously designed storyboards that would guide the entire production process.
During pre-production, we worked closely with the client to ensure that every aspect of the project aligned with their vision. This phase involved detailed planning and coordination, including storyboard development, location scouting, casting, and scheduling.
Our team was responsible for the full production of the videos. This included working with a talented film crew, sound designers, and casting agents. We utilised a mix of live footage, motion graphics, and VFX to create visually captivating content. The production phase was a collaborative effort, with constant communication between our creatives and the client to ensure that we stayed true to the envisioned narrative.
Post-production was handled entirely by Something Else Studio. We took charge of the editing, grading, motion graphics, VFX, and CGI to ensure the final product was polished and professional. High production values were at the forefront of our efforts, aiming to deliver videos that stood out in both quality and content.
The Copilot video campaign successfully showcased the cool and fun features of the Microsoft Edge Co-Pilot. By focusing on relatable scenarios, the videos demonstrated how Copilot could help users work more efficiently and stay organised. The combination of live-action and advanced visual effects created a dynamic and engaging viewing experience.
